Cee`s Black & White Challenge: Photographers
Cee`s challenge this week brought back memories of the day a few of use got together to do a Ned Kelly re-enactment. Ned Kelly is an important part of Australian folklore, his stand against injustice is a legend in this country.
Ned`s stand ended at Glenrowan Station on 28 June 1880. Kelly, dressed in homemade plate metal armour and a helmet, was wounded in the legs by police fire, arrested, and subsequently prosecuted for the fatal shooting of the three policemen. He was convicted of three counts of willful murder and sentenced to death by hanging.
Some of the positions photographers get in to make the shot can be funny at times, watching Shaun wriggle around in the long grass was quite a spectacle.
Shaun & Desrae are big Kelly fans & have a replica suit of armour which was used in the shoot. I remember the day well, Shaun came up with a great line……“if only he had used a Canon things might have turned out better”.
